Require cleaning service contractors use cleaning products that are credible third-party certified green products.

Proposed procurement goals:

Require the use of Green Seal or UL ECOLOGO or Safer Choice certified cleaning products for 100% of cleaning contracts in the following categories: carpet, window, all purpose, bathroom, and general floor care
Require the use of specialty cleaning products in 100% of cleaning contracts that meet third party certified criteria
Require the use of safer disinfection products for 100% of cleaning contracts as defined by the Toxics Use Reduction Institute at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell
Require product ingredient disclosure in all contracts or vendors meet the California Cleaning Product Right to Know Act of 2017
Require disclosure of PFAS in all products considered for purchase: Michigan Executive Directive 2021-8, Reducing State Purchases of Products Containing Intentionally Added PFAS
